Our team consists of experienced deckhands, marine biologists, skippers, and tour guides, all with up-to-date qualifications, including Bronze Medallion, First Aid, and Master Reef Guide certifications. We are also proud to offer work experience opportunities for school students looking to gain hands-on experience in the marine tourism industry.

Affectionately known as The Sub, the SubSea Explorer is one of only two semi-submersible vessels built in the 1980s by John Rothwell, one of Australia’s most renowned aluminium naval architects and the former CEO of Austal Ships. Designed to offer a truly unique way to explore the underwater world, the Sub Sea Explorer remains one of the most remarkable vessels of its kind.
Sadly, its sister vessel was destroyed by Cyclone Vance in 1999, making The Sub a rare and special part of Western Australia’s maritime history. Over the years, it has been operated by local families in Coral Bay and even Rottnest Island before finding its home in Exmouth.
Today, The Sub runs daily tours, offering guests an unparalleled opportunity to experience the beauty of Ningaloo Reef from below the waterline. Owners Matt and Lucy feel incredibly lucky to be part of this vessel’s rich history and to continue sharing its magic with visitors from around the world.
To complement our semi-submersible tours, View Ningaloo recognised the growing demand for half-day snorkelling adventures. Owners Lucy and Matt were eager to design a vessel that would provide visitors with the ultimate snorkelling experience on the Ningaloo Reef.
Built in 2025 in Queensland by Mancraft, an Australian-made aluminium boat, this power catamaran was designed for comfort, style, and functionality. Its spacious layout, smooth ride, and top-tier amenities make it the perfect way to explore Ningaloo.
